Jordan Addison arrived in Minnesota with hopes he would form the NFL's best receiving duo next to Justin Jefferson, and the Vikings saw glimpses of just that all season.

Addison answered the call when Jefferson missed time due to injury, posting a pair of 100-yard games and finishing the season with a promising 911 yards despite an unstable quarterback situation after Kirk Cousins' season-ending torn Achilles.

The Vikings invested heavily in Jefferson this offseason and positioned themselves to make J.J. McCarthy their quarterback of the future in the draft. McCarthy will have Jefferson and Addison in his arsenal this season, but more legal trouble for Addison this offseason might start to raise some questions about the second-year receiver's long-term outlook in Minnesota.

Here's what you need to know about Addison's DUI arrest and his timeline of legal trouble.

    Jordan Addison DUI arrest

Addison was on suspicion of driving under the influence on Friday, according to the Los Angeles Daily News . The incident occurred near Los Angeles International Airport.

Addison wasn't driving, but he was found asleep at the wheel while blocking a lane of traffic on a ramp near the airport. The 22-year-old spent his final collegiate season in Los Angeles while playing for USC.

The Vikings released a statement confirming Addison's arrest, explaining that they're aware of the news and are "currently gathering more information regarding the incident."

It's been a difficult month for the Vikings, as rookie cornerback Khyree Jackson tragically died in a car crash as a passenger just a week before Addison's incident. Jackson was one of three people killed when another car attempted to change lines at a high rate of speed in Maryland.

Addison, meanwhile, found himself in hot water over a speeding violation last offseason. Here's a look at his timeline of trouble.

    2023 Speeding, Reckless Driving citation

Addison received a citation for speeding and reckless driving in June 2023 for driving 140 mph in a 55-mph zone. He would plead guilty to speeding in a deal that got the reckless driving charge dismissed. Addison only had to pay $686 in fines as a result of the deal.

Addison said he "made a mistake and used poor judgement" during the incident and said he would "learn from this and not repeat the behavior," though he would later attribute his decision to an emergency involving his dog.

The shocking speed of 140 mph evoked memories among NFL fans of former Raiders receiver Henry Ruggs III, who drove as fast as 156 mph while under the influence and killed a woman in a Las Vegas crash. Ruggs is currently serving a 3-10 year prison sentence

Addison was not under the influence at the time, but he was still fortunate to avoid a similar type of incident with much more serious consequences than a simple citation.

    2024 DUI arrest

Addison was arrested on July 12 in Los Angeles on suspicion of DUI. Addison was found asleep at the wheel in a white Rolls-Royce near Los Angeles International Airport.

While Addison wasn't driving at the time of the arrest, he was reportedly blocking a lane of traffic not far from the airport.

The Vikings released a statement confirming Addison's arrest, but the 22-year-old receiver has not yet commented on the matter.
