Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison.

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison was arrested on suspicion of DUI on Friday.

The arrest comes one year after Addison was issued a speeding and reckless driving citation for driving 140 miles per hour on a freeway in Minnesota. The incident also comes at an especially sensitive time for Minnesota, as Vikings rookie cornerback Khyree Jackson and two others died in a car crash on July 6.

In the aftermath of Addison's citation last summer, it was reported that the 22-year-old told a state trooper that he was driving at a dangerous speed because of a medical emergency involving his dog .

Addison later issued an apology, saying he had "made a mistake and used poor judgment" and "I recognize and own that. I am going to learn from this and not repeat the behavior. I am truly sorry."

In addition to Addison's previous driving incident and Jackson's death, Vikings offensive coordinator Wes Phillips was pulled over on a Minnesota freeway in December and his blood alcohol content measured 0.10.

The son of former Dallas Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips pleaded guilty to an amended charge of misdemeanor careless driving, paid $378 in fines and was suspended three weeks by the team.

Addison led the team in receiving touchdowns last season with 10 and finished second on the team in targets (108) and receptions (70). He also ranked third in receiving yards (911).
