The second half of the 54-42 Minnesota Twins season begins on Saturday . There are 66 games left on their schedule. They sit in 2nd place in the AL Central, 4.5 games behind the Cleveland Guardians. If the MLB playoffs started tomorrow, they’d get in as the 2nd of three Wildcard teams.

That means you would have to bet $500 dollars on the Twins to make the playoffs, just to win $100. DraftKings has pulled the Twins’ playoff odds from their board.

Why are projection models and sportsbooks so high on the MN Twins playoff odds?

Why are these projection models so sure about Minnesota’s playoff chances? Well, because nobody believes in the Cleveland Guardians, who have been the biggest surprise in the American League. For example, The Athletic’s model has the Twins passing the Guardians , before the regular season is complete.

But let’s not forget just how good the Twins are. If the infield is healthy (Correa, Lewis, Lee, Miranda), it might be the most explosive lineup in the American League, and without a doubt takes the cake in the Central division. Yes, they need pitching help for the playoffs, but this lineup alone can get them there.
