List: Twin Cities coffee shops that actually stay open late

Late-night coffee isn't for everyone. But at the risk of sounding like Abe Simpson, it seems like few Twin Cities cafés stay open late.
So, for those who enjoy a cup later in the day (tentatively raises hand), we've pulled together a list of the coffee shops that stay open late around the Twin Cities.
Though, "late" is a broad term, especially since we're talking about coffee. For some, grabbing a cup at 4 p.m. seems late. Nonetheless, for the purposes of this roundup, we're going to put the cutoff at 8 p.m. That's not super late, but it's late enough that it whittles the list down quite a bit.
(Of course, hours can change. So, check to be sure shops are open before you head out.)
Caffetto keeps slinging coffee in its thrift shop assemblage of mismatched mugs until midnight. Also, you can bring that cup to the basement to play a little pinball. 708 W 22nd St., Minneapolis
The Cedar-Riverside staple is open late every day. Its kitchen serves its burritos, soups, and other items as well. 1821 Riverside Ave., Minneapolis
Lost Fox Open until 11 p.m. Sunday–Thursday, 1 a.m. Friday–Saturday
It's not quite in the same bucket as a Caffetto or Hard Times since Lost Fox serves meals and cocktails. Still, it's open late. 213 4th Street St., St. Paul
Stepping into the cafe, attached to a pair of indoor soccer fields, it's a little surprising that it's open so late. But it is. Plus, it has a few local beers on tap for when you feel like switching over from coffee. 801 SE 9th St., Minneapolis
Cafe Latte does a lot of things. It has events, a bakery, pizza, wine, and, of course, coffee. While that doesn't quite make it a quiet cafe to sit at for hours in the evening, it is open late. 850 Grand Ave., St. Paul
Cold Front Open until 10 p.m. Friday–Saturday, 9 p.m. Sunday–Thursday
Like some others here, Cold Front isn't just a cafe. It's an ice cream shop with an expansive coffee menu, which includes decaf affogatos. 490 Hamline Ave. S, St. Paul
The relatively new Kingfield hub is a cafe, but also a bistro and market with beer, dry goods, and other items. It's closed on Tuesdays and closes up shop early on Sundays and Mondays. 4237 Nicollet Ave., Minneapolis
Fox and Pantry Open until 8 p.m. Tuesday–Wednesday, 10 p.m. Thursday–Saturday
Fox and Pantry does a lot of things. But the cozy cafe serves coffee and cocktails late into the evening. 15725 37th Ave. N, Plymouth
It's just one day a week, but there's a late night on the menu at Makwa. 2805 Hamline Ave. N, Roseville
Silver Fern Open until 9 p.m. Wednesday–Thursday, 10 p.m. Friday–Saturday
Silver Fern is open late, but isn't exactly a quiet space to get some work done on a deadline. It also has food, wine, beer, and THC drinks. 114 E Hennepin Ave., Minneapolis
Uncommon Grounds is easy to spot in Uptown because it's the only actual house on its block. But that house is slinging espresso well into the evening. 2809 Hennepin Ave., Minneapolis
Angel Food is best known for its beautiful bakery goods. You can get those with your coffee until 8 p.m. every night. 8100 Minnetonka Blvd., St. Louis Park
The brightly colored cafe with its mural by the Minnesota-based artist Ashley Mary stays open late a handful of days. It opened just over three years ago in the Morris Park neighborhood serving coffee and house-made soft serve gelato. 5013 S 34th Ave., Minneapolis
You can grab a coffee, but Lodestone is also open late for the games hosting nights themed around Magic the Gathering, Dungeons & Dragons, and other games. 10982 Cedar Lake Rd., Minnetonka
In addition to coffee, Sainaa also serves smoothies, sandwiches, and snacks. 317 W Lake St., Minneapolis
Chains
Ok. While we certainly prefer hitting one of the Twin Cities' many, many locally-owned coffee shops, there are some chain locations that stay open late. Here are some of the Caribou and Starbucks locations that have later hours, per their websites.
