A GoFundMe has been created to help the family with medical costs, with the fundraiser stating she has undergone surgery for a broken and fractured tibia, suffered bleeding in her liver and kidney, bruising in her lungs and cuts on her face.

However despite her injuries she is "alive and doing well."

The family posted an update on Monday, saying that she "is almost out of critical condition" and that they hope to "get her up and out of bed later tonight."

The family raised $11,500 from their $30,000 goal.

The 21-year-old suspect was arrested during a Monday traffic stop. He was booked into Hennepin County Jail for criminal vehicular operation and is pending charges.

    The case remains under investigation.
