The U.S. has the largest delegation at the Paris Olympics , sending an impressive 594 athletes. (Though, that's 21 fewer than the team had at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics .)

Naturally, there are quite a few athletes from Minnesota or with strong ties to the state. Minnesotans are more than ready to adopt and cheer on anyone who has called the north home, even for a short stint, whether it's St. Paul's Suni Lee , Lynx star Napheesa Collier, Timberwolves favorite Anthony Edwards, or former U of M diving standout Sarah Bacon.

We're regularly updating this list to keep tabs on all the athletes with Minnesota ties who have grabbed a medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

    Suni Lee

Medal: Gold, women's gymnastics, artistic team all-around; Bronze, women's gymnastics, individual artistic all-around

After missing gold at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Suni Lee and the U.S. women's team — Simone Biles, Jordan Chiles, Jade Carey, and Hezly Rivera — grabbed gold again in the team competition on July 30. Then, on Aug. 1, Lee took bronze in the individual all-around competition , while Biles won gold.

    Regan Smith

Medal: Silver, women's 100-meter backstroke; Silver, 200-meter butterfly

Lakeville's Regan Smith nabbed a silver on July 30 in the 100-meter backstroke, then took home a second silver on Aug. 1 in the 200-meter butterfly. Smith now has five Olympic medals in her career.

    Sarah Bacon

Medal: Silver, women's synchronized 3-meter springboard

The former University of Minnesota diver and five-time NCAA champion took silver with her partner Kassidy Cook. Bacon and Cook were the first U.S. athletes to medal at the 2024 Games . The duo trains with Gophers diving coach Wenbo Chen, who is with them in Paris. Chen doesn't get a medal, but certainly deserves some accolades. Bacon will compete again on Aug. 7 in the individual 3-meter springboard.
