While the Pro Bowl is not the competitive game it used to be, being nominated as one of the league’s best players is still a tremendous honor and a bucket list item for many NFL players. Looking back at careers, the number of Pro Bowls you were voted to means something. It carries a high prestige and bulks up a resume.

Vikings left tackle Christian Darrisaw has yet to be nominated for a Pro Bowl selection in his young NFL career, but one NFL analyst believes this season that could change.

Darrisaw is gaining respect around the entire league, and rightfully so. He has been one of the best offensive linemen when healthy since he entered the league in 2021. He was rewarded this past week by signing a massive contract extension worth $113 million, with $77 million guaranteed over the next four seasons. This was the 2nd highest contract for an offensive lineman in terms of annual average value, behind Penei Sewell, until the Tampa Buccaneers signed their star tackle Tristan Wirfs to an extension Thursday afternoon that surpassed both NFC North linemen.

With the new contract signed, Darrisaw is primed for another dominant season. According to NFL analyst Gus Logue of SB Nation, Darrisaw is now seen as one of the league's best tackles, which he believes should earn him Pro Bowl nods for the first time in his career.

“The Virginia Tech product has been one of the NFL’s best offensive tackles over the past two seasons. The only tackle with a higher overall PFF grade during that span is Trent Williams,” Logue would say in his latest article detailing why Darrisaw and others would be nominated for their first career Pro Bowls in 2024.

As long as Darrisaw can stay healthy again this season, the Vikings left tackle should get national recognition to gain his first career trip to Orlando for the Pro Bowl. There is an expectation that even after he gets his first, Darrisaw will gain many other high accolades and honors during the rest of his career as he continues to prove why he is one of the league's best blindside protectors.
