Bald eagles are some of the most known raptors around North America. These majestic birds soar high and hunt hard. They are large, with a wingspan that reaches 7.5 feet wide, and they are also known to be excellent fishermen. If there’s water and fish, there’s a good chance there is an eagle around in areas they live. Eagles rely on their eyesight and ability to fly for catching prey. They are said to have eyesight that is considered 20/5, being 4 for 5 times better than people. These birds can spot prey up to 2 miles out and lock on for a hunt. Around water, they use this eyesight to zero in on fish and attack with precision and power. When they hit their target, it's hard for the prey to escape their razor-sharp talons. Sometimes they can get into a fish or creature that is too big, this is one of the only times prey will escape. But this eagle showed how tough they can be and what they're willing to do to get a meal. Some boaters on the Wisconsin/Minnesota border came across an eagle floating in the water on the St. Croix River, and they immediately thought it was injured. It finally makes its way to shore, swimming with its massive wings, and they realize that it isn't injured at all... it has a big fish. The eagle drags a massive live musky up on shore for what is gonna be its next couple meals. I mean, what a big fish... that thing is almost as big as the eagle. https://twitter.com/dgoff17/status/1161799482826264576 About an hour later... https://twitter.com/dgoff17/status/1162310630789013504
