So much going on in this video, where to even begin... Muskie are many fishermen's favorite. They are an apex predator in the water, with nothing but themselves really preying on them. These predators can weigh over 50 pounds in some cases, and reach lengths well over 4 feet long. These massive creatures sit patiently in the weeds, using their camouflage to go unnoticed until they are within distance and strike in a flash. Dubbed the “fish of 10,000 casts,” fishing for these beasts can be slow and fruitless, but is always worth it when you finally do. Fishing them requires big lures and gear they can’t tear through with their razor-sharp teeth. The fight presents an opportunity to test your skills even further. Walleye have teeth as well, but they're just pointy, not sharp (if that makes sense?), which is why you don't generally use a strong leader when fishing for them. They live in many of the areas muskie do, and depending on their size, can quickly become a meal for muskie. Walleye are also a tasty meal for us fisherman, perhaps one of the best tasting freshwater fish around. This angler, a popular content creator out of Minnesota, had an up-close and personal view on one of those interactions. He hooked into a nice walleye, or "whale-eye" has that thick Minnesota accent called it, but got a wild surprise as you see a muskie come up and  hammer his fish on the hook. The angler reels in both fish but the muskie spits out the walleye at the last second. Meanwhile, his dog Kevin (GREAT name for a dog by the way) is charging at the bank, trying to get a look at what's going on in the water. What a battle to be a part of... this is what makes fishing so great. https://www.instagram.com/reel/C67SE3wr_iP/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
