The Minnesota Vikings desperately need cornerback help. Yet, Andrew Booth Jr was not expected to be a part of their plans at that position. Had he remained with the Vikings through the end of training camp, he was expected to be a part of the 53-man roster cuts, prior to the start of the 2024 regular season .

Minnesota Vikings trade Andrew Booth Jr to Cowboys for Nahshon Wright

Instead, he is off to Dallas to become a member of the Cowboys, where former Vikings head coach, Mike Zimmer, is now the defensive coordinator. No, he was not here when Booth was drafted… but he clearly liked him back in 2022, as well. In return, the Vikings will receive CB, Nahshon Wright.

Wright will turn 26-years-old in September. He’s been in the NFL for three seasons, all of them with the Cowboys, who drafted him in the 3rd round of the 2021 NFL Draft, one year prior to the Vikings drafting Booth Jr in the 2nd round. Nahshon Wright has played in 32 NFL games, starting just three (none last season).

The former Oregon State Beaver has compiled 37 total tackles (1 TFL), 1 interception and 5 passes defended. In 2023, Nahshon Wright produced a 60.1 overall defense grade, per PFF .

His coverage grade was a 58.2. He played just 52 snaps (272 career snaps), though. That’s not a big enough sample size to really make any of his numbers matter.
