There is some moving and shaking happening to the Minnesota Vikings roster this morning. General manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah made the Stephon Gilmore signing official, and ended the camp punter competition . He also signed another wide receiver, Justin Hall, out of Ball State .

The height deficient (5’8″) UFL star will get his second shot of the 2024 NFL training camp season, after being cut from the Las Vegas Raiders roster. Minnesota evaluators must have liked what they saw from Hall, at US Bank Stadium, when the Vikings and Raiders squared off in preseason, week one.

Minnesota Vikings sign wide receiver Justin Hall

Justin Hall ( 25-years-old ) went undrafted out of Ball State in 2022. He’s a feisty possession receiver who ran a 4.58 40-yard-dash, at his pro day . He was cut by the Raiders on cutdown day, 2022.

Hall then went on to play one season with the Houston Gamblers of the USFL, before they merged with the Houston Roughnecks of the XFL, during the creation of the UFL.

In his one UFL season , Hall finished 3rd in the league in receiving yards (603) and tied for 1st in receptions (56), to go along with 3 receiving touchdowns. He also returned punts. What does this mean for the Minnesota Vikings wide receiver room?

When it comes to the 53-man roster, it likely means nothing. I would not expect Justin Hall to be on roster after cutdown day (August 27). But as we wrote about yesterday , there are a lot of practice squad spots available these days. I’d imagine he is shooting for one of those.
