Bill Belichick would apparently like to see the Minnesota Vikings try their hand at getting behind. Of course, the Minnesota Vikings are 3-0 and Kevin O’Connell has his squad rolling . That means they haven’t seen a ton of adversity though, and the former New England Patriots coach would like to see them experience it.

Minnesota Vikings need to play from behind says Bill Belichick

It’s a weird thing to suggest a team needs to play from behind. Ideally the goal would be to never experience such a situation. So far the Minnesota Vikings have done a good job to outscore their opponents . How they play when trailing could be telling though, and Belichick wants to find out.

“I think the Vikings are eventually going to have to prove that they can play from behind. They’ve been great from ahead. They’ve had most of their defensive production come when they’ve been ahead, which is great. Offensively they’ve been able to score and get ahead. At some point, if that levels out, then how is that going to work?

What Belichick is actually describing here is adversity. The Minnesota Vikings have dealt with more of it in the form of injuries than they have actual on-field results. There will come a time that Kevin O’Connell needs to push the offense to orchestrate a comeback. We haven’t seen that yet, but it is coming. That will also put additional pressure on the defense to stop the opposition .

The schedule has been a gauntlet thus far for the Vikings and it doesn’t let up any time soon. At Lambeau Field on Sunday, oddsmakers have Minnesota as underdogs yet again . That reality suggests they will find themselves trailing at some point. It is there that we will see how O’Connell can work as he tries to push Sam Darnold .

Minnesota’s offense has been clicking on all cylinders to start the season. Almost all of their exposure has come while in the driver’s seat though. If they can continue to respond when needing to force the action a little bit, it will only further substantiate their strong start.

Last year the Minnesota Vikings won big at Lambeau Field . They will attempt to do so again this time around. If they get behind Jordan Love or Malik Willis , a comeback victory would only make it sweeter.
