MINOT AIR FORCE BASE, ND ( KXNET ) — On July 19, the 91st Missile Wing at Minot Air Force Base assumed a new command chief.

During the ceremony, Chief Master Sgt. Becky Thomas announced that she will serve as the primary advisor to U.S. Force Col. James Schlabach, who is the 91st Missile Wing (MW) commander.

Thomas’s jobs include matters about readiness, professional growth, health, well-being, discipline, quality of life, and deployment for Airmen.

“I am so happy to be a part of the Team Minot family and a part of the 91st MW,” Thomas said. “This position and this responsibility is huge.”

During her career, Thomas has held different developmental positions, such as a Noncommissioned Officer Academy professional military education instructor and a program manager for the Chief of Staff of the Air Force’s Task Force True North program.

“She is the absolute top choice we could have possibly had, and I’m excited for her to be here,” Schlabach said. “All Airmen of the 91st MW are going to benefit from Chief Thomas and the leadership that she’s already demonstrated in the time she’s been here.”

Thomas will represent over 1,800 personnel assigned to operate, secure, and maintain the 91st MW’s Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBM).

“I begged for the opportunity to come and be a part of this team, and I’m committed to leading and taking care of this team,” Thomas said.
