MINOT, ND (KXNET) — The face of one city council has now officially changed.

Three Minot City Council members Monday evening said their goodbyes while three others were sworn in.

Mayor Tom Ross presented the former members of Minot City Council with a Mayor’s Challenge coin and plaque, thanking them for their service.

Scott Burlingame and Stephan Podrygula gave their closing speeches before the new members took their spots.

Carrie Evans was the other outgoing council member but was not in attendance.

Podrygula, who served on the council for 16 years, spoke of his passion for the city and his thankfulness to have gotten the opportunity to serve, because of his family moving to America.

“I believe that every citizen has an obligation to serve their community and to participate in its shared governance to the best of their ability. This a very personal and important process for me. I am deeply appreciative of the opportunity to serve and the blessings we have been given thank you,” said Podrygula.

Scott Samuelson, Rob Fuller, and Mike Blessum are the three new Minot City Council members who were sworn in and took their new seats after.

This new council also appointed a new president and vice president with Mark Jantzer becoming President and Lisa Olson taking on the Vice President role.
