MINOT, ND ( KXNET ) — Concert tickets are still available for purchase both online and at kiosks, but hot tickets like Lil’ Wayne are going fast, which is why it’s better to be safe than sorry and always get your tickets from the fair and not a third party.

“In each category, our ticket sales are above last year and last year was a great year. I think it goes back to the entertainment level that’s in our grandstands. It’s just very top-level,” said Craig Rudland, the general manager of the NDSF

Tickets for the standing room for the Lil’ Wayne concert are no longer available. There are, however, tickets for the grandstand reserved seating left.

Capacity for standing room is 11,000 people and there are 7,000 spots for reserve grandstand seating. And this is just one of the many artists drawing people to the fair.

“Machine Gun Kelly, Lil’ Wayne, the Grand Stand Show Pass is very much ahead of last year’s sales. So if you plan on taking in any show I would suggest getting those tickets now,” said Rudland.

“Over 1,500 tickets sold at the kiosks collectively and this is their first year out and about in an indoor space and we owe a lot of that to our partners. Between the show pass and Lil’ Wayne, it’s looking very promising,” said Charlene Ratliff, the marketing director for the NDSF

With tickets surpassing last year’s sales numbers, there’s a lot for fairgoers to be excited about all of this year’s entertainment.

But fair leaders say when purchasing tickets it can be easy to look in the wrong places and get overpriced or even fake tickets for events through third-party websites and on social media.

“We run into that every year. We definitely encourage people to go to NDstatefair.com and buy off of our website, just to avoid any third-party sellers, those are not guaranteed tickets, but if you buy from NDStateFair.com there are guaranteed tickets,” Rudland said.

Fair leaders say the last time they sold out the Grandstand was for Jelly Roll last year and they also sold out the standing room for Ludacris.

You can buy tickets online at the North Dakota State Fair website , at the kiosks at any marketplace foods in Minot, the Dakota Square Mall, and at the State Fair Center.
