MINOT, ND ( KXNET ) — One local community center has now partnered with Museums for All, a program through the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

Museums for All allows kids of all backgrounds to be able to learn the different subject areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math also known as STEAM.

The Magic City Discovery Center in Minot hopes their collaboration with the program will help raise awareness about local museums and how they can be so important to the learning process.

This new partnership also helps low-income families get into the Magic City Discovery Center for a discounted admission rate of $3. All you need to do is show your SNAP Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card.

The marketing coordinator for the Magic City Discovery Center says this also helps encourage lifelong museum habits.

“As kids are growing up,” stated Abigal Arnold, “even if they are low income, they can still have the chance to come into museums — and hopefully go into museums all around the country.”

At the Magic City Discovery Center, there are 150 exhibits and 12 galleries for kids to let their imaginations run wild. Coming up, they have a free Dala Horse STEAM class.
