MINOT, ND ( KXNET ) — People were celebrating at the ribbon cutting at the Dakota College at Bottineau in Minot.

Before the tour, there were giving remarks about this project.

They will be offering two programs the dental assistant with classes starting in August and the dental hygiene program which starts in a year.

Students will be learning the skills and applying those skills to real-life jobs.

They use mannequins to practice on, a simulation lab, digital x-ray machines, drills, handpieces, and more.

“Again this is about solving a workforce challenge. There is a great shortage in the state of North Dakota for dental assistants and dental hygienists,” said Dr. Steve Shirley, the president of MSU and DCB.

Dr. Shirley mentions that they have had local dentists tell them this is the most cutting-edge facility between Minneapolis and Seattle.
