MINOT, N.D. ( KXNET ) — Joe Berger, Mat Charley, and Mark Race make up the musical trio—Raynes. Berger is from Mandan, Charley from Minot, and the third member the lead singer, Race is from England.

Several years ago, they moved to the West Coast to make it big and last Friday, July 26th, they released their new single, “Tie Me to the Tracks.” It will be going on their upcoming album, called EP 49. They say they came up with the album name tying all the songs, together.

“We decided to call it, ’49’ because that was sort of the year of the California Gold Rush and we started putting these thoughts together there is a lot of similarities and parallels what anyone does as a band and trying to strike it rich in the gold rush,” said Charley.

“We actually played two songs for him acoustic in the Sony office in New York and this is back in 2017 also, so really quite early on. So, it’s quite old school. Normally it’s all, you send a few tracks via email, people hear stuff online, but this was us going into Sony/ATV’s office, playing our instruments live in the flesh, and that’s kind of what got us signed,” said Race.

Members of the local band say their fanbase has been growing. Raynes’ music is available on all streaming platforms, and you can find if they are coming to a city near you on bands in town.
