Dashiwa Japanese Ramen in Arcadia, CA

You know this new ramen place will be amazing when it's ran by the same owner as Oseyo Shabu Shabu in Pasadena!  This spot is located in downtown Arcadia that's not too far from the Santa Anita mall.   And I love how they offer more than just ramen! I came here before covid and was able to dine inside. Saw this place all over social media and Yelp so decided to give it a try. I was able to meet the owner and chat a little bit about his business. He picked quite clever names for both his Shabu restaurant and this ramen shop. Oseyo means "welcome" in Korean and Dashiwa means "come again" which I thought was pretty smart!

We got here around 5:30pm and ordered couple of their dishes.  I've seen a lot of the red tonkatsu ramen and shoyu ramen on Yelp.  My aunt wanted to try their Tonkatsu curry rice bowl and the Butadon with poached egg bowl.  We ended up taking the leftovers home and ate it the next day and it was even more delicious!  

So how's the ramen? The red Tonkatsu one comes with a spicy sauce that you mix into the broth yourself.  You can adjust it to your liking by taking away some sauce before mixing everything together.  But this sauce isn't too spicy at all.  Very good and I'd order this one again.

The Shoyu broth is good for those who want a simple flavor and nothing too complex like the red tonkatsu ramen.  Plus, it's not spicy so your kids would enjoy it too!

The Butadon bowl was really good and flavorful.  They use good quality meat so it's not all chewy and fatty either.  Great for take out and quick lunch.  Tasted good even the next day when I reheated this for lunch! The Curry tonkatsu rice bowl perfectly compliments the ramen and good to share as a side item!  Order one ramen and one of this bowl amongst two ppl to eat a variety of two dishes.  

If you live in the area, you're super lucky to have Dashiwa close by home!  It's also a great place to stop by after shopping at the mall!  Don't be hungry. Fill up your hangry belly with this ramen-tistic bowl of noods or rice bowl!
