Circumstances of Disappearance

Madalina Cojocari, a 13-year-old girl from Cornelius, North Carolina, has been missing since November 23, 2022. The last confirmed sighting of Madalina was captured on a school bus video, and her mother reported her missing nearly three weeks later, on December 15, 2022. The delay in reporting her disappearance, coupled with troubling circumstances surrounding her home life, has raised significant concerns about her safety.

According to investigators, Madalina's mother, Diana Cojocari, and her stepfather, Christopher Palmiter, had a dispute the night of November 23. The next morning, Palmiter left for Michigan, and when Diana checked Madalina's room later that day, she found her daughter—and some of her belongings—gone. Despite this, Diana did not report Madalina missing until after a school counselor visited their home on December 12.
