Commissioners Told to Use a Scale to Weigh What is Needed
BELLE FOURCHE-Public comments were pointed to the spending of the Butte County Commission during the July 116, 2024 commission meeting. Dale Simanton spoke first and asked to see billing from attorney Sarah Frankenstein, who spoke at a previous commission meeting about legalities surrounding voting. He said the commissioners needed a scale to weigh what they need and what they want. He continued by saying that he thought the sheriff is “irresponsible to want new offices.” He added that he thought money is being “frittered away.”

Madison 14U VFW takes 2nd at State
The Madison 14U VFW baseball teams season came to an end on Sunday, with a runner up finish in the Class A State VFW Tournament. Madison opened the tournament on Friday with a 12-2 win over Milbank .Henry Veenhof allowed just 2 unearned runs on 4 hits while striking out 13 batters in the opening win for Madison. Night Out event makes return to Volga
The Brookings County Sheriff’s Office wants to say thank you to county residents on Aug. 6 from 5 to 8 p.m. during their National Night Out celebration in Volga. “We want to give back to the community,” Deputy Sheriff Jeremy Kriese said. “They are so supportive of us through the whole year, so this is kind of our way of giving back and saying thanks for all your support through the year. Popular Valentine dance studio relocating to new, larger location
VALENTINE, Neb. -- Valentine’s popular dance studio for kids and teens is moving to a new, larger location just in time for the 2024-2025 school year. Heart City Dance plans to open in its new spot at 148 E. 1st Street, also known as the “Yucca Dunes” building, shortly after Labor Day.
