Mission CISD prepares backpacks for Back-to-School Bash

MISSION, Texas ( ValleyCentral ) — Mission area businesses, community organizations, and volunteers gathered on Thursday to organize and pack school supplies for the Mission CISD Back-to-School Bash.

Jerry Sanchez, with the district’s public relations department, said it is important to hold events like this and to make sure the students are well prepared before the school year starts.

“We’re just trying to give back to the community as much as possible. There are a lot of students in the community, and families in the community that getting these school supplies will help them prepare for the school year,” Sanchez said.

The Back-to-School Bash will take place Tuesday, July 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Mission Event Center at 200 N. Shary Rd.

School supplies will be given to registered Mission CISD students on a first-come, first-serve basis while supplies last.
