County health dept. to celebrate 75 years with free community health fair
CHARLESTON, Mo. (KFVS) - The Mississippi County Health Department will celebrate 75 years of serving the community with a free health fair. On Thursday, July 25 the community can come by the department at 1200 E. Marshall St. in Charleston, Missouri for free health services, classes and demonstrations, activities for children and more.

CHARLESTON, Mo. — The Mississippi County Health Department will celebrate its 75th anniversary with other local organizations later this month. Barbara Chimienti, a member of the event’s committee, said the celebration will be free and run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, July 25 during a health and community fair at the health department, 1200 E. Marshall St., in Charleston.

Charleston woman injured in hit-and-run crash
CHARLESTON, Mo. — A Charleston woman was injured in a hit-and-run crash Tuesday, July 9 in Mississippi County. According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 4:05 p.m. on Route NN, about four miles east of Charleston, as a southbound vehicle struck the northbound vehicle driven by Shanice C. Gipson, 25, of Charleston, causing Gipson’s vehicle to run off the right side of the road and strike a tree.
