    Mississippi Attorney Charged with 3 Counts of Introducing Contraband into a Correctional Facility

    A Mississippi Attorney has been charged with multiple Counts of introducing contraband into a Correctional Facility as well as consipiracy according to a press release from Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones.

    According to Jones, MississippiAttorney Daniel Sidney Dale was arrested on August 8th, 2024 and charged with 2 counts of conspiracy as well as 3 counts of introduction of contraband to a correctional facility.

    Attorney Dale, allegedly posing as legal counsel for some Hinds County detainees, was allegedly smuggling cell phones and other contraband during visitations.

    During a visitation on August 8t, he was found to be in possession of several items of contraband and cell phones in an attempt to pass them to a detainee. He was detained, questioned and later charged.

    Attorney Dale, in a trusted position responsible for the constitutional rights of arrested suspects, jeopardized the safety and integrity of the Hinds County Detention Facilities and the public.

    This investigation is ongoing and more charges and/or arrests are possible.
