On September 1, 18-year-old Robert Noah, a senior at MRA, was involved in a fatal collision on Highway 7 in Grenada County. According to Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) officials, Noah was driving a 2024 Subaru Crosstrek southbound when his vehicle collided with a 2024 Jeep Wagoneer traveling northbound. Both vehicles were engulfed in flames as a result of the crash. Tragically, the passenger in the Jeep, 74-year-old Lizzie Tucker from Texas, also lost her life in the incident.

Greg Self, Associate Head of School at MRA, expressed his shock and sadness upon learning of the accident. “The impact of this loss is profound. We’ve given our seniors the option to take an additional day off if needed, as this tragedy occurred over the holiday weekend. They will need time to process and heal,” Self said. He acknowledged the deep void Noah’s passing has left, particularly for the Class of 2025. “This is a loss that will be felt throughout the year—during homecoming, prom, and graduation. Robert was a pillar of our student body, known for his leadership and kindness,” Self added.

Noah was a well-respected figure at MRA, serving as the leader of the student section at athletic events. Self highlighted Noah’s unwavering dedication to making others feel valued. “Robert was a genuinely kind young man who went out of his way each day to ensure that no one felt alone. He was a beacon of compassion, and his legacy will be remembered by both students and faculty alike,” Self remarked.

The MRA community is coming together to honor Noah’s memory and support one another during this challenging time.
