According to Vicksburg Police Department, authorities are intensifying their search for Treyvon Thomas, a Vicksburg resident who has been missing since early Monday morning. Thomas, a crew member aboard the tow barge Big J.O. with Yazoo River Towing Company, vanished while the vessel was navigating the Yazoo River near Dyersburg, Tennessee.

According to sources close to Thomas, the incident occurred around 4 a.m. on August 26. At the time, Thomas and another crew member were preparing breakfast when Thomas stepped outside for a smoke break and to dispose of trash. He was reported missing approximately 20 minutes later, prompting an immediate search effort.

The Coast Guard was notified roughly an hour and a half after Thomas was reported missing. As of now, the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency has conducted search and rescue operations in the surrounding waters, but no trace of Thomas has been found.

The Vicksburg Daily News has sought additional information from Tennessee authorities, including the Dyersburg Police Department, but has yet to receive any updates. The situation remains fluid, and further information will be provided as it becomes available.

Anyone with information regarding Thomas's whereabouts is urged to contact the Warren County Sheriff’s Office at (601) 636-1761.

Update: The initial report incorrectly stated that Thomas had been missing for an hour and a half before being reported. This has been corrected to reflect the accurate timeline.

That guy probably dead in that water. So sad to even think this way, but he’s probably dead and eaten by an alligator or shark in that deep water….. All them boat rigs should have cameras

Did he possibly fall in-between the barges? My daddy was a captain on a tow boat. he's had deck hands fall between barges and he's had some that just jumped overboard for their own demise.
