    NOAA Weather Transmitters in Booneville, MS as well as Aberdeen, MS, are going to remain offline.

    According to a press release from the National Weather Service of Memphis, the transmitters are offline due to communication issues. At this time, there is no time frame for the repair of the transmitters.

    The National Weather Service of Memphis also reports that Tropical Storm Francine has intensified to Hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico. Mississippi is expected to feel the effects of the storm Thursday into Friday. Heavy rain and wind gusts are expected, as well as the potential for more severe weather.
