Amory Police Says Active Shooter Rumors are False

The Amory Police Department has issued a press release to confirm to the public that there is no active shooter in Amory Schools.

According to the press release, reports have been spread about an active shooter in multiple schools in Amory. The School Resource Officers, or SROS, have communicated with school officials to confirm that the rumors are unsubstantiated. At the time of the press release, no threats, either direct or indirect, had been made against any of the campuses.

Police believe that the source of these rumors involves an incident with a student in a neighboring district.
