    Tupelo Police Dept Charges Man for Fleeing Arrest

    On September 7, a traffic stop turned into a felony arrest for the Tupelo Police Department.

    Officers stopped a vehicle on Saturday, September 7th on Doe Run Road for an equipment violation. According to a press release from Tupelo Police Department, the suspect, Torrean M. Albert, was ordered from the vehicle due to an odor of marijuana.

    The suspect fled in the vehicle, with the Tupelo PD giving chase. Officers followed the vehicle until they lost sight of him on a county road.

    An hour later, Albert, 22, of Belden, was located and arrested for multiple traffic violations.

    On Monday, September 9th, Albert was charged for the crime of felony fleeing. Tupelo Municipal Court Judge gave the order for Albert to be held on a $15,000 bond before the case is presented to Lee County Grand Jury.
