Carroll County Escaped Inmate Taken Into Custody

On September 11th, 2024, Oxford Police arrested an escaped inmate from Carroll County.

Oxford Police were assisting with a search for Ryan Burks, 39 years old, from Ripley, Mississippi. Burks escaped from the Carroll County Regional Correctional Facility.

According to Darkhorse press, police officers were stationed on Highway Six East when they spotted a vehicle matching the suspect's description. After initiating a traffic stop, officers arrested Burks for felony fleeing in a motor vehicle, as well as possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

Later, Burks was brought into Carroll County Sheriff's Department for additional charges.
