Father and Daughter Injured in Four Wheeler Ride, GoFundMe in Place

On Saturday, September 14th, 2024, a routine family four wheeler ride led to a father and daughter being injured.

The Price family, consisting of Kayla Duncan, Jamie Price, and children Kenzly, 7, Raylee, 6, and Whitley, 4, went out for a four wheeler ride with a group of friends. Due to the weather conditions following Tropical Storm Francine, Price over-corrected the vehicle on a stretch of wet gravel and asphalt. In the over-correction, Jamie Price and his daughter Whitley were injured.

According to a GoFundMe account started by a family friend, Jamie was transported to New Albany's hospital with a punctured lung as well as head trauma. All scans were normal, and he was released from the hospital Sunday, though he will still be in recovery and unable to work for several weeks.

Whitley was transferred to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital in Memphis to be treated for bruising and head trauma. Whitley received more than 30 stitches on her head and is receiving scans. The most recent set of scans showed minor swelling, as well as concern for movement on the left side of her body. The child has been sedated since being transferred and admitted into Le Bonheur, and it is unknown if the issues on her left side are from the sedation or another undiscovered issue. Doctors will continue monitoring her condition.

Updates will be posted to the Price family's GoFundMe account. For more information or to donate to Whitley's family, please visit https://gofund.me/40683c86.
