    Body Found at Thames Elementary, Believed to Be Self Inflicted

    Hattiesburg Police responded to a call on Tuesday, September 17, at approximately 7:20 a.m., reporting a deceased body at 2900 Jamestown Road.

    Police, upon arriving at the scene, discovered that the body was suspended from a tree. According to a press release from Hattiesburg Patriot News Media, the dispatch call initially identified the body as a juvenile. However, FC Coroner Lisa Klem has clarified that the age of the student as eighteen.

    According to a social media post from Hattiesburg Patriot News Media, an investigation has been opened into the student's death, and is currently believed to be self inflicted. No foul play is suspected, and no threat exists to the students or the community in the area.
