Willie Jerome Manning was convicted of capital murder and sentenced to death in Oktibbeha County in 1994 for the murders of MSU students Jon Steckler and Tiffany Miller, whose belongings Miller attempted sell after their bodies were found in rural Oktibbeha County, leading to his arrest.

Manning's attorneys have filed several appeals since his conviction.

According to Krissy Nobile, who is Manning’s counsel and also the director of the Mississippi Office of Capital Post-Conviction Counsel, there is “newly discovered evidence with the recantation of several key witnesses."

One of the witnesses, she says, was paid $17,500 for fraudulent testimony. Additionally, Nobile also said that there is no physical evidence that links Manning to the murder.

    Manning has maintained his innocence.

Mississippi already has blood on its hands,,they put an innocent man in the gas chamber at Parchman, his last name was JOHNSON, you can find the entire movie 🎥 on YouTube,it's called "14 Days in May". I've watched it a couple of times, they stayed with him until the last minute, man it mad me cry, pissed me off, made me sick, all because a scumbag prosecutor wanted a conviction. I hope who ever reads this goes and watches the documentary. that kid was 100%INNOCENT!! And the way they killed him was disgusting, see yourself, they test it on rabbits, anyways Mississippi has always been corrupt ,I hope they get it right,at least they got rid of the gas chamber. And I feel if you did something so horrible and there is no doubt about the guilt, then they have to face the consequences. one more thing(30 years!! they put Johnson to death in less than five years! that's just so messed up,you think they could get it right after 30 years, but think about that,,how was it 30 years ago
