    Attorney General Lynn Finch Announces Sentencings in Human Trafficking Investigations

    On September 18th, 2024, Mississippi's Attorney General Lynn Finch announced the sentencings of three Mississippi men in association with human trafficking and child exploitation.

    Bruce Cherry, Jr., of Taylorville, 34, was sentenced to ten years with Mississippi Department of Corrections. Three years will be served day-to-day without possibility of parole, and five years of post-release supervision.

    According to the press release from Fitch, Cherry's arrest was in connection with a human trafficking operation in Hattiesburg.

    On September 3, James Wilder, of Carthage, 38, was sentenced to ten years with Mississippi Department of Corrections. Three years will be served day-to-day without possibility of parole on a count of tampering with physical evidence. Wilder was also sentenced to a term of fifteen years with seven years to be served day to day on a count of intimidating a witness.

    On August 19, Dunn, of Biloxi, 60, was sentenced to forty years with Mississippi Department of Corrections. Six years are to be served day-to-day without possiblity of parole on one count of child exploitation. Dunn will also be required to register as a sex offender.
