The drivers of the vehicle had evaded arrest when previously pursued. This time, the vehicle crashed, and the suspects ran from the scene.

According to Darkhorse Press, Detective Hamilton sent K9 Teun to pursue and track the suspects. Clinton Police Department's UAV/Drone team also aided in the chase, tracking for approximately 600 years using a thermal drone. The drone team located the suspects concealed in dense brush by the bank of a creek.

K9 Teun ventured into the brush and was able to find and apprehend the first suspect. The second suspect made an attempt at escape from his hiding place while the officers were arresting the first. However, K9 became aware of the second suspect's attempt to flee and captured the suspect, holding him until officers were able to take him into custody as well.

Both suspects were from Jackson. They were identified as Xavier Washington, 23, also wanted for felony fleeing and receiving stolen property, and Isaiah Wooten, 20.
