    Memphis Man Arrested in Pontotoc County for Possession

    A traffic stop conducted by the Narcotics Unit of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Pontotoc County Sheriff's Department led to the arrest of a twenty six year old man from Memphis.

    Terrell Shandell Ware, of Memphis, Tennessee, was pulled over by officers performing daytime Narcotics Operations and patrolling the roads of Pontotoc County. According to a press release from Pontotoc County Sheriff's Office, officers noticed that the car, a silver Toyota Camry with a Florida license plate, committing a traffic violation.

    Officers noticed a strong odor of marijuana after pulling Ware over. This led to a search of the Camry, which led officers to discover a backpack containing several jars. The jars contained marijuana, and the backpack also contained multiple bundles of US currency.

    The officers also recovered six dosage units of ecstacy.

    Ware was arrested for posession of a felony amount of marijuana and possession of ecstacy. After further investigation and questioning at the Adult Detention Center, Ware was charged with possession of a controlled substance- marijuana with intent to sell as well as possession of a controlled substance- ecstacy.

    $3,399.00 of illegal drug funds was also seized during the search. Bond was set by a Justice Court Judge at $15,000.
