Pedestrian Killed in Ocean Springs Train Incident

An individual was hit and subsequently killed by an Ocean Springs train. The incident happened near the train tracks at 1118 Bienville Boulevard, at around 9:51 p.m.

A white male, whose name has not been released, was lying on the railroad tracks and refused to move, in spite of being warned by the westbound train.

According to WLOX, the train attempted to stop and entered emergency mode, but was not able to stop in time.

The track was shut down for authorities to clear the scene and re-opened at 11:07 p.m. Ocean Springs Police Department is still investigating the incident.
