    Two Men Shot, One Dead in Attempted Tunica County Home Invasion

    Tunica County Sheriff deputies, as well as first responders, were dispatched to the scene of an attempted home invasion at 1655 Beatline Road in the wee hours of Friday morning.

    At approximately 1:15 a.m. on Friday, September 27th, the Sheriff's Office received a 911 call reporting an attempted home invasion and that two subjects had been shot.

    When the sheriff deputies arrived on the scene, they encountered a male subject who had received a gunshot wound. Pafford treated the man on scene, and he was then transported to a hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.

    The man has been identified as Mardis Carter, age 46. He resides at the home at 1655 Beatline Road in Tunica.

    Sheriff deputies also encountered the second gunshot victim, who was pronounced dead by Glen Grant, the Tunica County Coroner. The male subject has been identified as Nadarius Joiner, age 30, of Tunica.

    No arrests have been made, as homeowners are protected by the constitutional right to protect their homes from a person who has gained entrance.
