    Jackson Man Arrested for Alleged Madison Attempted Burglary

    According to Madison Police Department, a man from Jackson has been arrested after he attempted to burglarize a home in Madison.

    Around 4:03 a.m. Friday, officers with Madison Police Department were dispatched to the area of Calumet Drive regarding a man spotted on the back porch of a home. The homeowner had also spotted the man around a vehicle.

    A second call was received from Trace Vineyard Subdivision after the patrol units arrived at Calumet Drive concerning a male subject who had been seen looking in the front door of a home. The officers who responded to Trace Vineyard located a man identified as Edward Earl Brown, age 34, inside the carport of the home.

    According to the press release, Brown, of Jackson, was arrested on multiple charges. These charges are two counts of attempted burglary, felon in possession of a weapon, and possession of drug paraphernalia. In addition, investigators will be speaking with Rankin and Madison District Attorney's Office concerning Brown's prior arrests for house burglary.
