    Five Individuals Taken into Custody for Human Trafficking and Felony Drug Charges

    North Mississippi Narcotics Unit agents, as well as Tupelo Police officers, executed a search warrant that led to five subjects being taken into police custody as part of the investigation.

    On September 24, 2024, the law enforcement officers searched a residence in the 2000 block of Crabapple Drive in Tupelo, during which they recovered and seized felony amounts of methamphetamine and heroin.

    According to a press release from Tupelo Police Department, three individuals were located in the residence during the search, and two others were apprehended shortly after leaving the area.

    Aarington Dancy, 31, of Tupelo, was arrested and charged with trafficing of methamphetamine, possession of hydrocodone, and trafficking of heroin.

    Jaquette Simmons, 29, of Aberdeen, was arrested and charged with human trafficking, trafficking of methamphetamine, trafficking of heroin, and possession of hydrocodone.

    Tyra Rogers, 18, of New Albany, was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of heroin with intent to sell.

    Amber Pope, 23, of Mantachie, was arrested and charged with possession of heroin.

    Andelyn Wheelington, 26, of New Albany, was arrested and charged with possession of heroin.

    Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Harry Sumner ordered Simmons and Dancy be held without bond. Bond for Rogers was set at $25,000, and Wheelington and Pope both were given bonds of $5,000.
