    Picayune Police Make Multiple Drug Arrests

    On September 26th, detectives with the Picayune Police Department made several drug related arrests.

    On the 26th, detectives with the Special Operations Division of Picayune Police Department held a traffic stop on a red Nissan Sentra at Palestine Road near Union School Road. During the stop, officers established probable cause so that they could search the vehicle.

    According to a press release from Picayune Police Department, the driver, Alex Cooper, as well as the passenger, Chantea Brown, were discoverd to be in possession of a distribution amount of cocaine. Both were charged with posession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute within 1,500 feet of a church. They were also charged with tampering with physical evidence.

    A search warrant was also executed by Picayune Police Department at the residence of Travis Holloway, 602 Richard Street. The dectives arrived at the residence, at which point Holloway attempted to flee the area while discarding illegal narcotics. Holloway was apprehended quickly, and the narcotics were located by K-9 Trea after an artical search. Kelvin Stallings was also at the residence at the time the search warrant was executed. During the investigation, it was determined that Holloway was in a vehicle with Stallings before the officers arrived. Both Stallings and Holloway were taken into custody and charged with trafficking of a controlled substance. In addition, Holloway was charged with tampering with physical evidence and resisting arrest by fleeing.

    The detectives with Picayune Police Department have released a statement that distribution of illegal narcotics will not be tolerated.
