Picayune Officers Respond to Shots Fired into a Residence

Shots were fired into a dwelling on the evening of September 27, 2024, prompting a 911 call and officers responding to the scene.

At approximately 11:59 p.m., according to a press release from Picayune Police Department, a woman was lying in bed with her two young grandchildren when the shots were fired on Nixon Street. The bullets traveled close to wehre the grandmother and her grandchildren were sleeping.

The suspect is believed to be on foot. It is also believed that the suspect fired fourteen shots at close range. Detectives have been pursuing answers on this case and are in the process of obstaining video surveillance videos to watch from several locations in the area.
