Jessica Plaxico, who was previously in custody at the Mississippi Department of Corrections, has been caught on security cameras asking for donations under false pretense. She asked for money from someone in my own family and stated that it was for a Falkner School student with brain cancer. The alleged student, "Tiffany Smith" doesn't exist, as confirmed by employees at the school.

Plaxico has many different stories that she adjusts to try to scam people out of money. According to comments in a Facebook post by a local resident, Plaxico has been visiting multiple Ripley businesses with multiple stories about why she's collecting money, including Tin Roof, SouthSide Nutrition, Quality Glass, where she stated that she needed money for her fictional son who was diagnosed with brain cancer and a stepfather that was on dialysis, State Farm, and many other area businesses.
