Former Marine with Assault Record Involved in Airport Road Shooting

A former Marine has been taken into custody after shooting a man in the face, according to Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones.

Kevin Dueitt, age 44, is presently in police custody after the shooting, which took place just after 4:00 p.m. in the 1300 Block of Airport Road in Raymond.

The victim, Lee Casterberry, was taken to the University of Mississippi Medical Center, considered to be in serious condition. The gunfire took place after a fight took place between the Dueitt and Casterberry.

Dueitt has been involved in multiple other violent crimes. In 2022, he was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in Leake County. In 2022, he also allegedly broke a domestic violence protection order in Attala County.
