    Pearl Resident Arrested at Age 18 for Armed Robbery and Possession of Stolen Firearm

    A young man from Pearl has been arrested in connection with two events that occured in 2023.

    Dylan Josiah Fletcher, at just 18 years old, received a sentence for his involvement in an armed robbery of a Sonic restaurant and possession of a stolen firearm.

    According to Bubba Bramlett, Madison and Rankin Counties' District Attorney, Fletcher was sentenced on September 10th by Judge Bradley Mills. Fletcher will serve thirty years in the custody of Mississippi Department of Corrections, with eighteen years suspended. This means that Fletcher will spend twelve years behind bars. Five years of probation will be served after his release.

    Fletcher also received a five year sentence to be served concurrently for a September 2023 charge of possession of a stolen firearm.

    Fletcher's armed robbery incident took place April 7, 2023, at Sonic on Highway 80 in Pearl. According to the victim, a juvenile who had just left the prom, two masked subjects approached him and displayed their firearms while demanding the juvenile's belongings. The victim recognized Fletcher's voice though his face was partially concealed.

    Fletcher was let out on bond for the robbery. During his time out on bond, he was arrested again in September for the discovery of his possession of a stolen firearm. The firearm in question, a Glock 17 9mm, had been previously reported stolen during a Rankin County automobile burglary.
