Inmate from Hinds County Injured During Jail Fight

A fight between two detainees at Hinds County Detention Center early this morning left one inmate injured and in need of treatment.

Early in the morning on Friday, October 11th, two inmates at the Hinds County Detention Center were involved in a physical altercation. One of the two individuals was cut with an unspecified object, according to Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones.

The detainee was taken to a local hospital for treatment, while the other was checked over by medical personnel at the Hinds County Detention Center.

No further information is available on the status of the inmate at the hospital. More will be released as it becomes available.
