    Woman Arrested for Felony Fentanyl Possession in Tishomingo

    A safety checkpoint by the Tishomingo County Sheriff's Department on Highway 30, near County Road 961 in Paden, resulted in the arrest of a West Point woman on October 4th for possession of fentanyl.

    Brittney Stubblefield was arrested after a substance found in the her possession tested positive for Fentanyl, which is a controlled substance, according to Tishomingo County Sheriff's Department.

    According to Dr. Brett Marlin at the University Medical Center, "The fentanyl epidemic began around 2013-2014 with a 300% increase in fentanyl encounters noted by the US Drug Enforcement Agency’s (DEA) National Forensic Laboratory System in 2015 and presaged the current epidemic."

    Stubblefield, who resides in West Point, was charged with Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance.

    Tishomingo County Judge Seth Adams set her bond at $50,000.
