Man Dies After Boat Catches Fire on the Water Near Burnsville

After a boat caught on fire on the Tenn-Tom Waterway near Burnsville, five of the six passengers were able to swim to shore. One, a twenty year old man, did not make it back to shore.

According to Tishomingo County Coroner Mack Wilemon, the victim has been identified as Janari Pritchard, age twenty.

The fire occured shortly after midnight on Sunday, October 13th.

According to Wilemon, the other five passengers on the boat were able to swim safely to shore once they vacated the boat.

Pritchard's body was found the next day, shortly before noon. He was found near the scene of the accident.
