26-Year-Old Man Turns Himself In for Jackson Murder

An arrest has been made in a Jackson Police Department murder investigation that took place in September 2024.

According to Detective Tommie Brown, the homicide, a fatal shooting, took place on September 4th. The shooting took place in the 100 Block of Cedars of Lebanon.

The victim of the shooting, Carderius Hawthorne, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The suspect, Johnathan Fortenberry, age 26, turned himself in on Monday to Jackson Police Department, for Hawthorne's alleged murder.

The death of Hawthorne marks homicide victim #78 for 2024, according to Darkhorse Press.
