The vehicle pulled into a parking lot, but then fled west on Cliff Gookin, according to Tupelo Police Department.

Because the suspect was driving at an accelerated speed toward oncoming traffic, the pursit was called off.

An investigation into the incident led to the arrest of 36 year old Javaun Wells of Tupelo. Wells was charged on October 13th with felony fleeing.

Wells was ordered to be held on $15,000 bond and a hold was placed on him by the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

This case will be presented to the Lee County Grand Jury.
